Tagua (Vegetable Ivory)

Tagua is a species of hard nut or seed often sourced in the rainforests of South America. As a natural, organic and environmetally resource for making jewellery similar to Ivory it is rapidly becoming a popular and sustainable substitute. It is sometimes called vegetable ivory and is the seed endosperm of the ivory nut palm commonly found in coastal rainforests of Ecuador, Peru and Colombia.
